The Department of Chemistry has M. Sc. and Ph. D. Programmes. The academic programmers are so designed as to enable the students to acquire a good understanding of classical Chemistry as well as its latest developments. A good number of students qualify the NET examinations every year. The Department was selected by the UGC for Special Assistance Programme under Departmental Research Support category. The department has also received assistance from the Department of Science and Technology under its FIST programme under which major instruments, viz, one 300 MHz & one 400 MHz FTNMR machines have been installed.
