The Department of Food Technology will be starting M.Sc. course (2 years) in Food Technology and PhD in Food Technology from the academic session 2019-2020.
Food Technology is one of the major streams in the branch of science that deals with the novel techniques involved in producing, bioprocessing, preservation, fermentation, packaging, labelling, quality management, safety assessment, marketing and entrepreneurship of food products. It involves an amalgamation of physical, chemical or microbiological processes and techniques of raw ingredients transformation into food and also other forms in food processing industry. The area of research interest of the department includes, bioprocess technology, nutraceuticals and functional foods, food microbiology and synthesis of biological active organic moiety. The department shall organize seminar, symposium, conferences and training programs for students and research scholars in near future to disseminate and gain knowledge.
